Did you know heart disease is the #1 cause of death in men and women, greater than the next five causes of death combined?

Fortunately, today, there are ways to significantly lower your chances of developing heart disease and reverse the effects of a current heart condition you may or may not be aware of, and start promoting a healthy heart. St. John’s Riverside Hospital Cardiovascular Department offers the most advanced diagnostic technologies and therapeutic options to prevent, diagnose and treat heart conditions.

St. John’s Riverside Hospital provides best-in-class care in the following Cardiac Services:

Testing and Diagnostics
St. John’s Riverside Hospital team will diagnose and correct abnormal heartbeats using the most up-to-date techniques. We provide same-day results for EKG, Echocardiograms, and Stress Testing services, all administered under the supervision of a leading cardiologist.

We also offer Medical Induced Stress Testing and Myocardial Perfusion Image Stress Testing in our Nuclear Cardiology Department. These highly accurate tests measure heart function and enable cardiologists to prescribe medications accurately and select devices for optimal treatment outcomes.

Treatments include pacemaker insertion performed at St. John’s by one of our highly skilled Thoracic Surgeons working closely with your Cardiologist.

Inpatient Care
The Critical Care unit incorporates state-of-the-art treatment and monitoring in a modern setting of 16 private rooms. Our physicians provide a range of treatment options, including drug therapy, biventricular pacing, and ventricular assist devices.

St. John’s Telemetry Unit provides a sophisticated monitoring system that enables our staff to continuously monitor patients’ progress resulting in early detection and treatment options.
