Andrus ER movement & Incontinent
On Tuesday, September 9th around 5:45AM my 83 year-old, father-in-law, Americo Vega, came in need of urgent medical attention. He was unable to functionally move and was incontinent with urine. Americo was transported to St. John’s Hospital Yonkers emergency room via ambulance.
My wife, Angela, and I met Americo at St. John’s shortly after he arrived. I witnessed the remarkable care that he received. Incredibly, this began with the security staff, who were professional and welcoming. All medical staff represented with high clinical skills, but as importantly, they were appropriately human throughout each interaction. Medical staff listened, made eye contact, were patient, and communicated an overall desire to help.
I have lived in the area for decades. I have harbored a residual concern about St. John’s Hospital that was both frozen and ambiguous. After the aforementioned, I would now seek any necessary treatment at St. John’s without hesitation.
Thank you for all the good work you’ve accomplished. Highest regards, Alex Lavinio
