HEALING WOUNDS... RESTORING LIVES

CENTER HOURS

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm.

Please call 914-964-4630 to schedule your appointment.

A comprehensive outpatient wound management program dedicated to treating adult patients with non-healing wounds and wound prone conditions. This includes patients with wounds resulting from poor circulation as in peripheral vascular disease, chronic venous insufficiency, diabetes with neuropathy, pressure due to immobility, or other wounds that are slow to heal.

There's a reason why a wound won't heal.

The Wound Healing Center consists of a multidisciplinary team of health professionals who work collaboratively to ensure that patients receive the most comprehensive evaluation and treatment.

Services Provided:

A history review and physical exam with special emphasis on the wound is performed during the first visit to determine the underlying condition that caused it. Wound measurements are taken at every visit to monitor progress. Visits are usually scheduled weekly or biweekly, depending upon healing progress. A wound photo is taken periodically to visualize progress.

Non-invasive testing may be performed to check adequacy of circulation and determine if bone is infected.

Surgical wound debridement to remove non-healthy tissue is performed at the center, usually at each visit. It may be necessary to schedule a more extensive debridement in the Operating Room. Infection control is managed by oral and/or topical antibiotics. An admission to the hospital may be necessary if infection is extensive and not controllable by oral/topical route.

Patient education is very important to us and minimally includes education about wound dressing change technique, signs/symptoms of infection, underlying conditions that caused the wound, and measures to prevent recurrence.

Services offered by home health care nurses, nutritionists, orthotists, and physical therapists are coordinated as needed.

Payment:

Medicare and most commercial carriers cover the majority of services. Some insurance may require referrals.
