

The continuing education division of Riverside Health Care System is known as the Institute for Health Education and Research. The Institute offers programs and seminars for both health care professionals and the public. The Institute is committed to:
Provide continuing education on health care issues for professionals and the public
Promote awareness of current research and technology in health care and health care delivery
Serve as a resource center for professional and non-professional groups, and the community
Offer programs focusing on concepts, practices and research related to health care and health care delivery

Certified Nurse Aide
Course
This course will prepare the participant for the New York State Certified Nursing Assistant Exam. Completion of certification requirements allows you to seek work in a hospital or a long term care facility.
Phlebotomy / EKG Certificate Program
A six (6) week certificate program that will prepare you for immediate entry into the healthcare field.

This course is meant for all members of the community.

This course is meant for the Health Care Provider. Initial and re-certification

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
New guidelines: PALS Certification and Re-certification providers are required to take both days to receive certification.

Also covers, Infection Control, Patient Safety and Confidentiality. Some medical experience required.
The cost is $125 for a six hour course. It is held in the Cochran School of Nursing Skills Lab S-2 Level. Pre-registration is required.
