St. John's... A Place of Many Firsts...

St. John's Riverside Hospital opened its doors as Westchester's first hospital in 1869. For more than 140 years, it has been the leader in delivering breakthrough medical care for its patient community.

In 2001, St. John's Riverside Hospital was the first and only hospital in Westchester to receive the prestigious national Ernest A. Codman Award for its breakthrough work in treatment of asthma.

St. John's was the first to use a genetically engineered treatment for heart attack victims to prevent permanent heart damage.

St. John's was the first hospital in Westchester to deliver a baby and the first in the county to deliver more than 100,000 babies.

Today, St. John's Riverside Hospital continues to evolve to meet dramatic changes in healthcare. It is a leading healthcare institution with a staff of more than 400 physicians representing nearly every medical and surgical specialty, with exceptional nursing care and state-of-the-art medical technology.
