St. John’s Riverside Hospital’s monthly Cancer Support Group will have a guest speaker on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 7:00pm.  The topic will be “Living Well Spiritually”, given by Rev. Paul Bryant-Smith, St. John’s Riverside Hospital Staff Chaplin.

Is it possible that the cucumber and the radish may actually be super veggies? It’s hard to believe, since many of us were taught by our parents and grandparents that the cucumber is mostly water, and the radish has little nutritional value. We do know, however, that moms and movie stars alike use cucumbers to reduce inflammation under the eyes, and help the skin heal from sunburn and eczema.

This year the Cancer Support Group of St. John's Riverside Hospital celebrates their 20th Anniversary.  Together with patients, friends and family, the group shared personal experiences along with life issues dealing/coping with diagnosis and treatment of their cancer.

St. John’s Riverside Hospital offers a cancer support group called “Look Good, Feel Better”.  Look Good, Feel Better is a free program designed to help women with cancer enhance their appearance during treatments.

 The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation to the Cancer Program at St. John’s Riverside Hospital.  “It is appreciated that the dedication of many individuals is recognized and it is important for our community to understand that quality cancer care can be given in a comfortable community hospital environment,” said Norman Rosen, M.D., Chief of Hematology/Oncology and Chairman of the Cancer Program Committee at St. John’s Riverside Hospital.
