St. John’s Riverside Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services department has been a leader in chemical dependency treatment since 1967 and operates one of the largest and most comprehensive treatment systems in New York State. We offer a full continuum of hospital-based inpatient through community-based outpatient services.

Our 72-bed detoxification program provides physician-supervised treatment and compassionate care for those suffering from withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, and other drugs of abuse. Our multidisciplinary treatment team helps each patient to safely end their physical addiction and learn skills to maintain recovery through group and individual counseling, 12 Step experiences, psychiatric treatment, and individually designed discharge planning. 877-944-CARE (2273) or 914-964-7537

Our 69-bed rehabilitation program provides evidenced-based chemical dependency treatment to those in need of a structured 24/7 setting. We have gender-specific treatment units and we offer psychiatric consultation for individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders. We offer an eclectic approach including the philosophy and practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the 12 Steps. 877-944-CARE (2273) or 914-964-7537

The New Focus Center, Greenburgh Addiction Treatment Services, and Archway outpatient clinics provide a full array of treatment services for adults and adolescents with Substance Use Disorders which include individual, group, and family treatment services from 8:30 am to 8 pm. Psychiatric services are also provided for those who have psychiatric problems in addition to Substance Use Disorders. All clinics offer Medication Assisted Treatment (Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, Sublocade, and Vivitrol), in addition to individual and group therapy, which has proven to greatly enhance successful treatment. We also have an Opioid Treatment Program which uses methadone along with individual and group therapy to stabilize those who have Opioid Use Disorders (heroin and other opiates). Coming Soon: Telehealth Services will be available to all individuals by mid-summer. St. John’s Riverside Hospital is now offering outpatient Behavioral Health Services at the following locations:

The Heart Initiative is the Yonkers Police Departments’ new approach to combating the growing epidemic of heroin addiction. It consists of a three-prong approach: Prevention, Assistance, and Enforcement. The primary focus of this initiative is on the treatment of the disease of heroin/ opioid addiction as opposed to the strict enforcement for heroin/ opioid use.
